Available Space

• The total available space above the hinge and between the gas-lift struts is 19 inches (48.3 cm) vertically and 59 inches (149.9 cm) horizontally.

• There is approximately 19.5 inches from the edge of the table to the hinges in the back. 

Bluetooth Speaker Protrusion in the Table-to-Desk

It doesn't need to protrude at all. There is enough space in the rear compartment to insert it fully. However, since the charge port on the speaker is behind it, you won't be able to insert it completely while charging with a straight USB-C cable.
